Across the top go the two team names — and it's worth noting who takes the first centre pass, because centre passes alternate all match and 'whose turn is it?' is netball's oldest argument. The grid gives you four rows, one per 15-minute quarter, and every goal is worth exactly one, so each cell is a simple tally of goals scored in that quarter alone. Remember that only the Goal Shooter and Goal Attack can score, from inside the goal circle: if a tally mark appears while neither was shooting, something has gone wrong.

At each quarter's end, close the row and add the quarter's goals to your running total; the 'Final score' line at the bottom is the cumulative sum of all four rows. After every goal the restart is a centre pass, taken by the two Centres in turn — the alternation carries across quarters, so keep marking it. Teams change ends every quarter, so double-check you're crediting the right column after each turnaround — it is the classic netball scoring slip. A drawn final score is a legitimate result in league play; if your competition requires a winner, extra time follows the event's own regulations, and you can simply note it beneath the grid.

Netball's scorer watches three currencies at once. Goals, always worth one, from only two shooters per team. Time: four quarters of 15 minutes of playing time, with the clock held for stoppages — the countdown, not your memory, should say when a quarter ends. And discipline: the umpire's ladder runs from warning to a two-minute suspension to ordering off, and a suspended player is not replaced, so her team shoots and defends short-handed while your exclusion note explains any sudden scoring drought. You also track one timeout per quarter — once used, it does not carry over.
